PUSH BACK RACK

How does Pushback Rack Work?

If you’re in need of high-quality new or used push back racking at your facility in New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania, Diversified Rack & Shelving, Inc. is the company you need to call.

Following is an overview of push back racks, the types of industries that typically use our push back racking, and much more.

How do push back racks function?

Typically, push back rack systems have a pair of inclined rails and a range of nesting carts that ride on the rails. For example, a four-deep lane has three nested carts. The first pallet is placed on the top cart through a forklift. Once you have the second pallet ready to go, you will push the first pallet rack back and carefully place the second pallet rack on the middle cart. Similarly, the third pallet rack pushes back the second, and the first two, and then rests on the bottom cart.

When you unload the push back rack, the process is reversed. Since the rails are inclined toward the aisle, when you pick up the pallet resting on the rails and back out, the three remaining pallets will follow to the front of the lane. Then you can remove each pallet sequentially and until the lane is empty.

What industries typically use our push back racks?

Various types of industries use our products. Some of them include, but are not limited to, manufacturing, food distribution, automotive, third party logistic facilities, and pharmaceuticals.

Additionally, nearly any warehouse owner that's looking to increase the storage capacity of their warehouse is a suitable candidate for this type of product. Last, but not least, push back systems are fully operational in coolers or freezers, and you don't have to use a forklift unless it's necessary.

Something important to remember is that the main factor in recognizing if you need a push back application is what's in your inventory. If you have numerous products that need to be stored and have five or more pallets per SKU (stock keeping unit), then a push back rack may be what you need.

What's the difference between a push back rack and a drive-in rack?

Push back racks are much easier and faster to load and unload because they come back to the aisle. What's more, occupancy and stock rotation are significantly enhanced because each level stores various products in push back. Finally, rack damage is reduced because you won't have to drive into the rack to clear any pallets.

Since 1990, our family-owned and operated business has sought to offer businesses and organizations all over the Tri-state area with push back racking they can rely on to keep their products secure. We take great pride in the stellar reputation we've developed since our establishment, and promise that you will receive products that will work exceptionally for years to come.
